Position title: Grant Writer
Hiring Committee: Gavin Raders, Salvador Mateo

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit grant proposal applications in collaboration with PJ Co-Directors
- Complete current grant reports within their required timeframe
- Research and identify new public and private funding opportunities for Planting Justice
- Remain in weekly communication with co-workers regarding schedule
- Attend weekly program meetings, monthly staff meetings, annual strategic planning retreat, and other required staff trainings
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent writing and computer skills
- Comprehensive knowledge about sustainable agriculture, food justice, re-entry support, youth education, social justice and community health in order to write grant applications and reports
- A clear commitment to a healing-centered, decolonial and feminist approach
- Maintain positive working relationships with a complex and diverse set of community partners, program participants, and staff members
- Ability to remain open-minded, patient, empathetic and growth-oriented through challenging work experiences
- 2 days or 16 hours/week
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salaries at PJ are set through our transparent pay chart. Minimum salary rate for this part-time position begins at $28,000/year for 2 days/week or 40%FTE, with a 3% increase in annual pay. Other increases in salary rate may apply depending on experience and need, and is negotiable with the hiring committee
- Benefits include 2 weeks paid time off plus 8 more paid annual holidays
- Annual professional development stipend of $500, plus other paid training opportunities
