This is the tropical cousin of the I'Itoi Bunching Onion.  These perennial bunching onions can grow in hot and humid conditions, which makes them unique, they are not cold hardy.  They often will go dormant during the hottest summer months and then produce the rest of the year.  Can be used a bunching green onion or dug up and used as a small onion or shallot.
