This seed propagtaed dark purple prune plum grows in the many old abandoned orchards on Orcas Island, Washington. It has also gone wild over the years and made incredibly beautiful and productive hedges along many of the old farm fences. Fruit is very good flavored, succulent and sweet, great for fresh eating, canning, pies and drying. The stone fruit mainstay for native Orcas Islanders, it almost always can be counted on to provide a good crop in the fall. Well adapted to the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Hardy zones 5-8.
