Cyphomandra betacea 'Camo'
Similar to the standard red Tamarillo but with a beautiful twist. The coloring on this tamarillo has a camo pattern. As described by raindance seed: "A rare find in peru this tree tomato variety sports unusually fantastic paturning and is true to seed. Sweet and fruity. These tall solanums are highly ornamental as well as edible. Consistently baffling the neighbors as they pass the trees ."
This perennial egg-sized fruit makes for good eating, and is typically made into jams etc or made into a savory sauce. Easily grown from seed (also cuttings possible but not easy), it prefers a a frost free environment (or protection from frost). Otherwise grow in a large container and overwinter frost free.
***Purchase of this plant/tree pays for one tree to be planted in Southern Madagascar to fight desertification and to build food forests
