Lavalle Hawthorn

The best food hawthorn known with large sweet meaty fruit that hang long into fall. Good for jams, fresh eating and all other hawthorn berry uses. A naturally occurring hybrid, Lavalle is a very unique hawthorn variety with high disease and insect resistance. The large deep green leaves hang very late into the fall and turn beautiful shades of bronze and coppery red. Very few thorns and interesting shape and structure make this a great ornamental or street tree. Profuse white flowers in the spring seem especially attractive to bees and other nectar loving insects. Hardy zones 4-8.
