Growing Community Together
We regularly host individuals, community groups, schools, and businesses at our four-acre mother farm in El Sobrante, at the Good Table in El Sobrante, & our East Oakland nursery for volunteer days.
Most of our on-site volunteer work involves working with plants and the tasks vary a great deal from season to season. Join us regularly throughout the year to gain exposure to a wide variety of different activities, tools, and techniques to round out your farm, nursery & garden education.
For groups volunteering from for-profit entities, we recommend a sliding scale donation to Planting Justice from $250-$2500. However, we will not turn anyone away for lack of funds. We value you and your time and appreciate your support.
To find volunteer schedules, signup forms, what to bring, and other specific details, please select your preferred location below. All volunteers will also have to sign this Liability and Media Release form. Thank you!

Accessibility
We want to make the farm accessible to all and we are under many limitations with the steepness of the natural landscape. We unfortunately don't have paved access ways, so wheel-chair access is challenging to most parts of the farm. For those that have any mobility challenges (different abilities, our elders, injuries, etc.), we welcome you to contact us about a closer location to park.
How to Find Us
- You will receive the directions in the email after RSVP
If you have more questions or if you don’t receive an email confirmation within one day, please email volunteer.farm@plantingjustice.org.

Planting Justice since 2020
Planting Justice opened doors for me I never thought possible. In this environment, you’re not a number, you’re a person. You get encouraged to be in leadership positions, to introduce new things to the program. You have a lot of room to grow.
