Etter’s Gold Apple (Malus sp.) is a beautiful, clear, golden-yellow, glossy, medium-large fruit that is round and slightly ribbed. Light yellow flesh is crisp, aromatic, juicy and sprightly with excellent dessert quality. Also great for pies, applesauce and cider. Tree is very productive bearing annual crops. Ripens very late in October/ November and keeps very well. Originated by Albert Etter in Ettersburg, California and introduced in 1944. Said to be a cross of Wagener and Transcendant Crab. Hardy zones 5-9.
