Oregon Ash (Fraxinus latifolia)

Native from southern Brithish Columbia to southern California, our native ash is a beautiful fast growing tree that produces abundant shade, great golden fall color and a quality straight grained hardwood for handles and woodworking. Grows naturally in floodplains with standing water in winter and dry upland soils. Can be coppiced for a continuous supply of handle stock and to keep contained in a smaller space. Grows 40-80 feet tall and 30-50 feet wide. Lush foliage has compound leaves that can get up to 1 foot long.
