Anna Apple is a remarkable low chilling selection bred by Abba Stein at the Ein Shemer kibbutz in occupied Palestine. Only requiring 200-300 chill hours (hours below 45 °F), this variety is well suited for warmer winter climates such as southern California and low desert areas. This large apple has light greenish-yellow skin with a slight red blush. Bite into this apple and you'll find a sweet, crisp, though slightly tart, creamy white flesh. This is a great apple for all your needs - use in salads, pies, apple sauce, or simply eat fresh. This early bearing apple ripens in late June, stores well and is self-fertile. Our Anna apples are certified organic.
