A natural Mexican X Guatamalan hybrid from Atlixco, Mexico, it was introduced into California in 1911. Once the most widely grown commercial variety, it makes a large spreading tree that is hardy down to 28 degrees. Heavily productive, though sometimes biennial, the medium size green fruits have an excellent flavor and ripen November through June. Type B pollinator.
