Developed at UC Davis by Ben T. Iwakiri, patented 1985 (USPP6075P). Extremely vigorous tree with white spring blooms (early April).

Very large obovate to globular fruit (often over 1 lb), smooth yellowish-green to light green skin. Crisp, tender, juicy white flesh, sweet with faint trace of tartness, 14% soluble solids. Ripens late September to early October. Stores 5-6 months at 32°F. Cross-pollinates with Shin Li. Highly productive (50+ lbs), regular bearer.

Cross between Japanese Kikusui and Chinese Tsu Li varieties. Combines crunchiness of Asian pears with European pear flavor. Developed at UC experimental orchard near Winters, California. Fire blight resistant. Limited pruning essential for good crops.
