Shropshire Damson Prune

The Shropshire prune, a type of damson, has a distinctive astringent richness which makes it a versatile fruit for culinary purposes. It is an oval shaped clingstone fruit that is slightly pointed at one end. When cooked, the fruit turns into a deep red color. It is cold hardy to USDA zone 5.
