Belle de Boskoop is an heirloom variety that was cultivated in Holland in the mid-1800's. Prized for its versatility and excellent dessert and culinary qualities, Belle de Boskoop has retained its popularity for many years. This variety ripens late in the season and produces firm, yellow to red fruits with a pleasant, tart flavor. These apples store well (up to 6 months when refrigerated!), and they will become sweeter during storage. They tend to take longer than most other apple varieties to bear fruit, but once they're mature they are very productive. Not self fertile, zones 4-9
