GA-866 Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba)

This shiny reddish-brown, date like fruit, has a sweet apple flavor. Fruit is noteworthy for its remarkably high sugar content. When candied and dried they resemble dates. Fruits are 1.5-2 inches long, elongated and plump, and require a hot summer for fruit to ripen. These jujube do well in desert areas. Attractive shiny leaves and rugged picturesque bark mean this food tree looks great in your landscape.

Ripens mid to late September. Mature height is 15-20 feet with a spread of 15-20 feet.
