Sugar Cane Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba)

Extremely sweet fruit with an apple texture and flavor which makes this a favorite. Medium sized fruit can be rounded to elongated. Attractive shiny small leaves (compared to other Jujube varieties) spines accompany this tasty fruit that is excellent for fresh eating or can be dried and processed.

Drought tolerant species is good in desert regions.

Ripens mid to late September. Requires 150 hours annual chilling below 45 °F. Mature tree has height of 15-20 feet and spread of 15-20 feet.
