Unique in a world of fruiting plants. Weeping Santa Rosa is a beautiful landscape tree with long, slender limbs that bow gracefully to the ground. Or, the supple limbs can be easily trained to a trellis or espaliered against a fence or a wall. The medium size fruit has a dark purple skin and strongly aromatic, richly flavored, red-streaked flesh - very highly regarded in taste tests for its sweetness and flavor. Harvests about 2 weeks after Santa Rosa. Discovered as a bud mutation of Santa Rosa. Introduced in 1969. 400 chill hours. self-fruitful. harvest early-mid season.
