A female selection of Che, also known as Chinese mulberry or Melon tree, that is highly productive of juicy sweet red-maroon fruits that taste like a cross of watermelon and fig. It comes into bearing at a young age and can produce up to 400 pounds of fruit when mature, ripening in November in California. Similar to mulberry which it is related to, Che has male and female flowers on separate trees, so be sure to plant at least one of each to get fruit. A very tough, pest free and drought resistant tree, Che is native to China and is hardy zones 6-9. Grafted onto Osage Orange rootstock for superior vigor. Learn more below!
