One of few self-pollinating/self-fertile pear trees, great choice for gardens with limited space. For top fruit production recommend planting with another pollinator tree. Fire blight resistant, more resistant to fire blight than Seckel with resistance similar to Kieffer pear. Also resists leaf spot problems. Very disease resistant, excellent disease resistance. Vigorous and productive, heavy yields.
White blossoms with some pink spotting. Medium-sized fruit, brown-russet colored, golden russet when ripe. Sweet rich flavor resembles Seckel, super sweet rich and spicy flavor, exceptionally sweet, smooth buttery texture, reminiscent of classic Comice pear. Smooth creamy flesh, very aromatic, fine-textured, buttery, no detectable grit. Ripens late August. Keeps well in storage, good storage ability. Excellent for fresh eating, also delightful when cooked into favorite dessert or poached, good for canning.
