Yennifer Flores joined Planting Justice on February 6, 2018. She was introduced to the organization through her mother. Yennifer started as a part-time employee and later became full-time. She believes that gardening is in her roots, as her family has a history of growing plants that goes back to her grandfather.
By working at Planting Justice, she has learned to grow and flourish as a person and wishes that others would have the same opportunity. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, going to the movies, and anything fun. The work that Planting Justice is doing is important to her because when she was younger, she used to volunteer in the community and they had always talked about growing affordable, organic foods in the community. When Planting Justice came around, it was a win for her.
I have seen myself in the best, best headspace in my life. I’m not drinking no more. I’m eating healthier. It took me to come here, to be here, to really learn to love myself again.
