Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum)

7Beautiful large fast growing deciduous conifer can reach heights up to100 feet tall and has soft feathery light green needles that turn orange- brown in the fall. Shaggy cinnamon colored bark covers a strait trunk that can be heavily buttressed at the base. Wood is prized for its rot resistance and is similar to Cedar and Redwood to which it is related. Very adaptable tough tree can grow in swamps, but also does well in dry soils. Zones 6-9. Current stock is nice large 3+ foot tall starts.
