The Delice des Vannes Medlar is a medium fruited medlar. Fruits are fragrant and delicious after bletting or when made into jams and preserves. This amazing Medlar likes full to part sun and does well in well-draining soil It is self-fertile and often begins bearing the 2nd year after planting. The Medlar is pest and disease resistant and can bear 20 lbs. or more of fruit. This Medlar blooms in May and produces fruit in mid to late October.
