Short for University of California Berkeley #1 hybrid pistachio rootstock. Dr. Lee Ashworth in the Department of Plant Pathology hybridized Atlantic Pistacia and Pistacia Integerrima to create this rootstock for disease resistance, and salt and cold tolerance. Has an attachment rate of over 90%.
