Northern highbush released 1949. One of the parents used extensively in developing Bluecrop. Vigorous spreading bushes. Doesn't produce many whips from plant base, instead producing most from higher up on bush.

Very large, light blue, firm berries with good storing quality but only average flavor. Loose clusters make picking easy.

Mid-late season variety. Historic importance as parent of Bluecrop (crossed with Stanley, Jersey, and Pioneer). One of the four parents that formed the foundation of modern blueberry breeding, especially for Southern Highbush development.
