Very old European cultivar named after Burjasot village near Valencia, Spain. First mentioned in literature 1854 by Audibert Frères, grown in England for many years under name "Blanche." Medium tree, fairly vigorous, violet terminal buds. Produces rounded greenish-chocolate brown fruit stippled with maroon. Genetic testing determined synonymous with Negro Largo and Violet Sepor.

Common self-fertile fig producing medium fruits (50-60g). Pale green with purplish flush skin, dense dark-red flesh. Rich syrupy juice with excellent deep jammy berry flavor, long-lasting strawberry aftertones. Closed to slightly open eye, moderately resistant to rain, performs better in drier climates. Late ripening, profuse cropper. Light breba production, main crop focus.

Confirmed identical to varieties from Burjasot, Spain area. Historical variety with documentation back to mid-1800s in England and France. Edward Bunyard wrote it's "in the very foremost rank of figdom." Barron (1891) reported it as "most constantly good fig" he'd grown. Performs well in cooler climates and containers. Two historic California trees documented at Santa Ana Court House and Mission San Jose.
