Crataegus aestivalis cultivar. Very attractive short spreading tree with beautiful branch pattern. Pleasure to behold in spring with bright green new growth and showy white flowers. Self-fertile.

Red-blushed fruit ripens early summer. Great for making classic mayhaw jelly. Traditional sweet-tart mayhaw flavor profile used extensively in Southern preserves.

Selected mayhaw cultivar from C. aestivalis species (one of three main mayhaw species alongside C. opaca and C. rufula). Part of improved cultivar development for larger fruit and better production. Native range includes wetlands and bottomlands of southeastern United States.
