Fast growing, extremely productive tree bearing at early age, sometimes year after planting. Medium-sized tree. Well adapted to cool weather climates, much better suited than Santa Rosa for cool rainy areas. Self-fertile in most regions, good pollinizer for other Asian plums. Low chill requirement of only 250 hours.

Medium-sized bright red fruit with amber-streaked red flesh. One of richest-flavored Japanese plums with wonderful blend of sweet and tart that melts in mouth. Fruit reminiscent of Santa Rosa but superior for cool climates. Ripens June in Central California, week or more before Santa Rosa. Self-fertile in most regions but performs best with cross-pollination. Excellent pollinizer for pluots and pluerry varieties.

Named "Beauty" for visual appeal and quality. Became popular alternative to Santa Rosa for northern and coastal growers with cooler climates.
