Early ripening variety from Nikita Botanic Garden Ukraine. Somewhat spiny but less so than Li and Lang. Precocious, very productive. Performs exceptionally well in hot desert areas. Smaller tree. Partially self-fertile, benefits from cross-pollination. Morning blooming type. Somewhat susceptible to cracking.

Small to medium round fruit smaller than Li. Incredibly sweet - extremely sweet even when fresh. Reddish-brown skin. Sweet crunchy flesh with apple flavor. Some fruit noticeably larger (with viable seed), smaller ones seedless. Generally ripens earlier than other early varieties, may ripen weeks earlier in some locations. Early fall in northern locations (requires long hot summer). Good for fresh eating and drying.

Imported from Nikita Botanic Garden as Yalta #1 cultivar. Also known as Coco™. One of earliest varieties in jujube season.
