Open-pollinated perennial that often known as Sour Grass. Likes cool weather, acid soil, partial shade and plenty of water to keep it from bolting. In spring it rapidly shoots up its thick sword-shaped lemony-flavored leaves. Will grow upto 1.5 ft. Great to make garden pesto with! Sorrel has a tart, lemony flavor that works well in a variety of recipes and is used in soups and stews and with ingredients like potatoes, carrots, chicken, and sour cream etc .
