This amazing giant showed up as a seedling in our garden 3 years ago. The leaves reach over 2.5 ft in length and the plant unstaked has reached 12 ft. tall and the trunk is 8 inch in diameter. Every year it is more vigorous than the previous year. This is the most massive tree kale we offer. Most likely a volunteer seedling of a purple tree collard that flowered 5 years ago in our mother garden in East Oakland. Plant size at purchase will be minimum 4" tall above.
