Satsuma Plum

Introduced in 1889 by Luther Burbank, this classic California plum is medium-small, purplish-red skinned, with beet-red flesh. Sweet, juicy and tender with a lot of flavor, it is semi clingstone and ripens midseason. Texture is pleasantly soft without being mushy. This plum is popular for good reasons! Delicious, productive, and beautiful. A vigorous, hardy and heavy bearing tree. Requires 300 chill hours, hardy to zones 4-9.
