61 productsPomegranates (Punica granatum)
Mythological fruits related to the Goddess of spring, Persephone and the story of the changing seasons.
Very ornamental small trees/large shrubs that grow 8-15 ft and have breathtaking bright reddish-orange flowers that bloom over a long season. Plants are long lived, drought tolerant once established, and need a long summer season to ripen fruit. Large showy red fruits with a tart sweet flavor adorn the tree in the fall. They are high in healthy bioflavinoids, a festive treat to eat fresh as well as making a fantastic juice. Hardy to 12 degrees and Self-Fertile. Zones 8-10.
