Desert Romance Prickly Pear

Stunning orange-red flowers are followed by deep red-purple fruits that are sweet and have a low seed count. Spineless pads are excellent for nopales. Hardy disease resistant variety is compact and bushy. Considered to be a most promising variety for high yield fruit and pad production. Collected by C. Russell from the Universidad Autonoma de Chapingo, Mexico. We obtained this selection from the National Arid Land Plant Genetic Resource Unit (NALPGRU) in Parlier, CA.
