Yerba Mate

Evergreen shrub or small tree native to South America, is a member of the holly family. Ornamental plants have dark green glossy leaves that are harvested and used as a popular stimulating tea, which is a healthy source of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. Plants do best in partial shade in hot summer climates and are hardy down to 20 degrees. Can be grown in containers. Likes acidic soil and grows to 15 ft.
