Crataegus azarolus cultivar. Beautiful small ornamental tree with glossy, dark green foliage. Few thorns (though stout where present). Fast-growing shrub/small tree reaching approximately 15 feet tall. Attractive small tree with white, fragrant flower clusters in spring. Mediterranean hawthorn cultivar.

Blueberry-sized red berries with good quality. Tastes somewhat like a sweet apple - sweeter and less tart than typical azarole. Good for fresh eating and preserves. Large, very attractive fruit. Fruit persists on tree into mid-winter providing ornamental winter interest. Energy-rich berries. Taste like tart-to-sweet apples.

Named cultivar selection from Crataegus azarolus species (Mediterranean/azarole hawthorn). Native to Mediterranean Basin (southern Europe, North Africa, Middle East). Selected for superior fruit quality - larger size, better flavor, good fresh eating quality compared to standard azarole types. Tough growing trees. Loved by pollinators - thousands of white flower clusters attract bees. Wildlife, especially birds, enjoy copious berry yield. Hardy, disease and pest resistant. Real trouper in natural gardens or hedgerows.
