Apple Rose (Rosa villosa)

Profuse showy pink flowers in spring are followed by large bright red hips that are good for jellies, sauces and a high in vitamin C tea. Dried they taste like raspberry leather. Vigorous and pest free bushes grow to 5 or 6 feet tall and wide. Attractive flowers, showy fruit, and good yellow fall color make this a beautiful, edible and highly medicinal addition to the garden. Hardy zones 5-9.
