Developed by USDA Agricultural Research Service in collaboration with Mississippi State University, released in 1998. A tetraploid southern highbush resulting from Fla. 4-B (V. darrowii) × Sharpblue. Vigorous, upright, spreading bushes reaching 5-6 feet. Extremely low chill requirement (150-200 hours or less), allowing it to grow in tropical climates. Remains evergreen in zones 9-10.

Medium-sized, light blue berries that are very firm with excellent, sweet, distinct flavor. Notable as one of the best-tasting Southern Highbush varieties. Excellent for fresh eating, fruit salads, desserts, and preserves.

Released 1998 for production in the coastal plains of the Southeastern United States. One of the earliest ripening blueberries, preceding rabbiteye cultivars by 14-21 days. In Deep South can produce two crops annually. Adapted to zones 8-11, particularly successful in Southern Florida, Southern California, and other low-chill regions.
