A traditional Italian persimmon variety that clusters morphologically with other Italian cultivars including Mercatelli, Moro, Mandarino, Rispoli, and Vainiglia. All resemble the Japanese cultivar 'Zenjimaru'.

Produces medium-sized fruit suitable for fresh eating and drying. Genetically distinct from other Italian cultivars despite morphological similarities. Valued in Italy's traditional persimmon production and used in dried persimmon product research.

One of Italy's presumed persimmon accessions developed from spontaneous seedlings or bud mutations of ancestral imported cultivars. Part of Italy's local germplasm inventoried in the EC GENRES29 Project for European fruit tree conservation. Genetic analysis shows Italian and Spanish persimmons share a common gene pool.
