Also known as: Rock cherry, amarel, St. Lucie cherry, perfumed cherry, little leafed mahaleb, The Mahaleb Cherry is a deciduous tree or large shrub, that has been known to grow as large as 20 to 30 feet tall.  The bloom time of the Mahaleb Cherry is mid-spring.  The fruit of this plant is small, thin-fleshed, spherical drupe that changes in color as it ripens from green to red, dark purple and finally black, and fully maturing in mid to late summer. Drought tolerant once established.
