OSU 9-20 Medlar

 This amazing Medlar likes full to part sun and does well in well-draining soil, it is self-fertile and often begins bearing the 2nd year after planting. The OSU 9-20 and its Medlar varieties are pest and disease resistant and can bear an abundant 20+ lbs. or more crop. This Medlar blooms in May and produces fruit in mid to late October after the first heavy frost.  The fruit is lovely sweet, soft, light brown textured fruit that taste similar to a spicy fragrant apple sauce. Its hardiness zones are 4-9 and the dwarf tree is about 6ft-8ft tall at maturity
