Pettingill apple tree is a very low chill tree which ripens late September into October in Southern California coastal climate. Pettingill apple tree was discovered as a chance seedling by Clark Pettingill in 1949, in Seal Beach a small beach town just south of Long Beach. Large fruit with red flush over green skin.
