Also known as Chocolate Vine this popular Japanese variety has beautiful redish-purple fragrant flowers that turns into large sausage shaped tasty fruit. Best to have 2 varieties for pollination. Attractive, lush dark green foliage is deciduous and resistant to pests and disease. In Japan the eaves are used for a medicinal tea and the vines are made into baskets.
