Scarlet Runner Bean (perennial)

A very old, vigorous runner bean that can grow 10+ ft and can form an edible tuber from which the bean tuber can overwinter can re-sprout following year. The large clusters of beautiful scarlet flowers and rapid, vigorous, sprawling growth make Scarlet Emperor an ideal choice for screens, trellises, and balconies. The long pods are tender and tasty when picked small. Great food forest species that are incredibly easy to grow.
