A patented variety from the breeding work of Neal Peterson in Maryland, who has worked tirelessly since the 1980’s developing several highly acclaimed new varieties. Shenandoah can reach up to one pound and has sweet, very flavorful creamy yellow custard like flesh. Neal says that this is his customers at the Washington DC farmer’s market favorite variety. A seedling of Overleese it produces good yields of only lightly seeded fruit. Conventionally grown plant in 1 gallon size pot. Hardiness zones 5-9.
