Developed at Okayama, Japan (Teiji Ishikawa, 1945). Medium-large round fruit, bright yellow skin, crisp white flesh, sweet with slight tartness. Ripens late August, stores 2-5 months. Partially self-fertile, highly productive (50+ lbs).

Name means "New Century," bred as cross between Nijisseiki and Chojuro varieties. Widely grown in California, Oregon, Washington orchards. One of most productive and reliable varieties for home gardens.
