Amelanchier alnifolia 'Success'. Saskatoon/western serviceberry cultivar. Oldest named cultivar, still popular today. Multi-stemmed shrub that blooms beautiful white flowers in spring. Short racemes produce 3-20 flowers. Hardy and adaptable. Self-fertile but benefits from cross-pollination. 

Large size purplish-black fruits. Popular for the large size and flavor of its berries. Similar to blueberries in taste. Used fresh or in jams, jellies, pies, juice, and wine. High in antioxidants, fiber, protein.

Oldest named Amelanchier alnifolia cultivar. Selected for superior fruit size and flavor. Still commercially and residentially popular despite age of selection. Native to western North America from Alaska to California, east to Dakotas/Nebraska.
