Ficus carica

The Violet Patlican fig is a variety from Turkey/Turkiye. "Patlican" means "eggplant" in Turkish, and so the violet color on the neck of the fruit and the dark purple-black skin may be reminiscent of the appearance of eggplant. It has a honey sweet flavor and can have juicy accumulation in the ripe fruit. The leaves can be one- three- or five-lobed with serrated edges. Self-fertile.
