Northern highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum complex hybrid). Most genetically complex blueberry cultivar developed by USDA breeding program, incorporating genes from five different Vaccinium species. Vigorous growing with open, spreading growth habit. Exceptionally winter hardy for northern highbush type, tolerating temperatures to -20°F or below. Cold-hardy upright structure with spreading branching pattern.

Very large berries, among largest of early-season northern highbush cultivars. Early-season ripening, typically June-July depending on location, valuable for entering early fresh berry markets. Excellent fruit quality with aromatic, flavorful berries. Superior taste characteristics. Firm texture suitable for fresh market and culinary uses. Good post-harvest storage qualities. Berries hold shape well for commercial applications.

Released by USDA-ARS breeding program at Beltsville, Maryland. Developed by Dr. Arlen Draper, pioneering USDA blueberry breeder who made substantial progress in highbush blueberry breeding through extensive interspecific hybridization work.
