Malbec Grape (Vitis vinifera) is an ancient French variety that is disease resistant and mid-early ripening. Purple grapes produce a very dark, intense red wine that is commonly used for spicing up Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blends in the Bordeaux region of France. Has become very popular in Argentina. Needs a long, hot and dry ripening period for best quality. Hardy to zone 7.
