Kaela found PJ online a few years ago and developed a great appreciation for the mission. Social justice and food sovereignty have always been core values of hers. In 2025, they joined AmeriCorps to pursue a career in environmental justice. Towards the end of her term, a job opened up in EO, and she was so excited to join the team.
Coming from a family lineage of farmers, learning and working with plants has always felt natural. They majored in Biology at SJSU and found a passion for food systems, insects, and ecology. She loves anything to do with science, history, or linguistics. In her free time, she enjoys podcasts, baking, and crafting!
I have seen myself in the best, best headspace in my life. I’m not drinking no more. I’m eating healthier. It took me to come here, to be here, to really learn to love myself again.
