Maria was first introduced to Planting Justice as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Sustainability Service Corps: “Planting Justice’s focus on food justice and community healing through deepening our connection to the environment and each other stood out to me as the foundation for creating a more equitable world for all.”
In her free time, Maria enjoys creating art, including drawing, painting, writing, and making music. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and often spends her weekends and breaks camping, hiking, and backpacking to connect with nature and friends.
